On a teal strip of paper:
"The idea does not belong to the soul, it is the soul that belongs to the idea." --William Sanders Pierce
Well, it's an awfully self-explanatory quote. I thought about it while I was riding my bike along the levy this morning, and really, I suppose there's not much to say about it. But I did realize that the idea that education is the most important thing in my life definitely owns my soul and not the other way around. I could no more change that idea than I could change the weather. I suppose my soul belongs to it.
