Yeah, I'm getting worse and worse at updating. I blame, uh... the cat. Or something.
So, I finished the Dr. Who scarf a few weeks ago. It was 1 inch short of 15 feet long. Will loves it.

I have also been working on some other projects, which I will post pictures of in a week or so.
And, the other night, I re-made some old stitch markers that kept falling apart.

So I had the needlenose pliers out, and the jump rings and findings and whatnot, and a friend had suggested using leverback earrings for the loops of the stitch markers, so I had a pile of those sitting in front of me... and it occurred to me I could MAKE EARRINGS. A few days before I had seen a keychain made out of a tiny skein of yarn, and it occurred to me I could probably make even tinier skeins of yarn and make earrings out of them!
So I did.

I showed a few friends on Ravelry, and they went NUTS for them. I had no fewer than four people ask, within just a couple hours, if I was selling them, and please could they buy a pair?
So I set up an Etsy shop.

And I am now selling tiny skein of yarn earrings on the internet.
I'm gonna go work on a Statement of Purpose for grad schools now.

Date: 2009-09-27 06:08 pm (UTC)From:It was so worth it though. It was such a fun project, and seeing Will's face when I gave it to him made me forget about how awful it was to knit. I'd do it again.
I'm really excited about the earrings! I hope lots of knitters everywhere buy them!
Also, you, keep an eye out for a package from me. You are getting preeeeseeennts! Also also, I miss you.
