Yikes. I have so much stuff going on I can't even think of anything to say. This last couple of weeks has been completely overwhelming. I'm ready to go, and at the same time the thought of leaving California makes me so sad. But my room is slowly emptying out, the walls are slowly losing their decorations, and this house is slowly starting to feel less like home. I don't belong here anymore, and I'm ready for something new. I bought a car rack, and now all I need to do is install it, load it up, and take my life away from Santa Cruz.
I have to be out of this room by Friday. I might stick around in town for an extra night or two, maybe crash at Ann's house. Then I'll go up to Reno, drop some stuff off, spend a few nights with my parents. Emily will meet me there, and we'll begin our cross-country journey. Which is still mostly unplanned. I should arrive in New Haven sometime around July 15, and then it's just a matter of unpacking everything I've been trying to pack for the last week, decorating a huge, empty apartment, and trying to pretend I belong there.
All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go
I'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin', it's early morn
The taxi's waitin', he's blowin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could die
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go
I'm ...
There's so many times I've let you down
So many times I've played around
I'll tell you now, they don't mean a thing
Every place I go, I think of you
Every song I sing, I sing for you
When I come back I'll wear your wedding ring
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go
Now the time has come to leave you
One more time, oh, let me kiss you
And close your eyes and I'll be on my way
Dream about the days to come
When I won't have to leave alone
About the times that I won't have to say ...
Oh, kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go
And I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go
But I'm leaving on a jet plane
(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane
(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane

Leaving on a jet plane

Leaving on a jet plane
