For those of my relatives who are reading this and learning this for the first time, I'm sorry.
Nanny passed away yesterday. According to my mom, Nanny was having trouble breathing, so Poopah took her to the emergency room and she was admitted. Poopah went home to call relatives and let them know that she was back in the hospital, etc. She died. Mom wasn't sure what the exact cause of death was... My guess would be that the tumor was bleeding into her bronchi again and she suffocated, but I don't know that for sure. Mom supposed that TOD was about 6 pm California time yesterday evening.
I don't know what I can say here. My feelings are so irrelevant. I don't know what Poopah is going to do. Apparently Kayla got down there Friday. My mom is going to fly to Dallas and drive down to Corpus with Aunt Tina so they can be with Poopah. Before I left Corpus Nanny made me promise I would NOT leave school to attend her funeral; she was very clear that I was not to return to Texas on her behalf.
I have a book of poetry she gave me, and several journal entries I made concerning things she told me. I plan to take those today to the beach, and spend a few hours reading her book of poetry and remembering her. I'm a bit in shock; we thought she had so much more time. She was supposed to have had months more. I talked to her Friday afternoon and she sounded fine... Not fine, but not like she was about to die.
I can't write about this anymore right now. Cousins with questions can call; this, however, is all the information I have.
