Yale visit!!
Feb. 15th, 2006 03:21 pmBeware, dialup users, I come bearing pictures of Yale and New Haven. And of snow. Lots of snow.
( Established 1701, probably not while it was snowing )
Other than that... all I can say is that I had an awesome time. The program looks amazing, the grad students look happy, and everyone there seemed to actually CARE about the fate of the grad students. Also, there are 230+ faculty and they only take in 70-80 grad students each year, so grad students are actually a hot commodity, and the whole environment is built to ensure that you leave as a scientist, and you actually learn something, instead of being used as a TA and a publication factory. It's very nurturing and comforting. I dunno. I haven't made any decisions yet, but I did buy a sweatshirt.
And they're offering me a LOT of money.
