oceantheorem: (I want a cookie and a raise)
I got back from Las Vegas last night. While I had a wonderful time and it was great to see my favorite aunt and 9-year-old Megan, 6-year-old Sydney, and 15-month-old Kyle, I swear to whatever powers there be that if one more person says in a high-pitched 6- or 9-year-old voice, "OOOooohh!! The baby is so cuuute!!" that I will go on some sort of killing rampage and probably destroy myself and most of the babies of the world in the process. The word "cute" is hereby and henceforth my least favorite word in the English language.

Other than being driven crazy by screaming children for the last week, I really enjoyed my visit. My aunt, Sara, is eight months pregnant, and we were hoping she'd have the baby while I was there. She'd been having pre-term labor for the last five weeks or so, and on Wednesday she was finally allowed to stop taking the medication that stopped the contractions, so we were hoping that she'd have the baby soon after that. But no luck. Looks like Olivia Faith might actually stay in there for the next three weeks if she wants to. There's not much Sara can do about it.

Las Vegas is HOT.

I did actually get to see the strip this time. We took a brief trip downtown and wandered through the Aladdin and Paris, and then walked across the street to watch the fountains at the Bellagio, which are amazing and cool, and someday I have to go back there and watch them on their half hour schedule every half hour for a whole evening. They were cool.

I cut my hair yesterday before getting on a plane and flying home. I think I cut off about a foot. It's the shortest it's been since I was four. It's just below my ears. My housemates love it. I think Nick is in shock.

Now that I'm back, my list of things to do takes up an entire sheet of paper. It's kind of frightening. The stuff I have to do this week would kill a horse.

Things to do today (or maybe this week) )

I am daunted. So daunted, in fact, that after making a list of houses to call, I went back to bed this morning and slept for another three hours. So much for being productive today.
