Are you... are you taking pictures of me?  You do know your camera has that little wrist strap thing, right?

She is ADOOOORABLE!! How old is she?

Isn't that unusual though, an orange female kitty?

Thanks. :-) She's about 2.5 years old. I got her as a Christmas present to myself in 2007, from a shelter in Connecticut that told me they thought she was ~11 months old. She looks exactly the same now as she did then (well, maybe she's a little sleeker, and a tad bit plumper--she had worms when I got her). :-P

I had never thought about the rarity of an orange female cat before, though when you mentioned it, I couldn't remember ever seeing another one. So I looked it up on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat_coat_genetics#Genes_involved_in_orange.2C_black.2C_brown.2C_and_diluted_colors
Seems it's related to the calico effect! Very interesting.

Edit: if you click on the Claire tag, or the Pictures tag, there are some more pictures of her in my journal archive.
