They're making a movie of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. None of you have any idea how much that series means to me... but man, do I love those books. They're so... amazing. Every time I feel like I'm going to fall apart, another book will appear, and everything is okay again, because somehow the books convey exactly the lessons I need at the moment in my own life. In fact, I read the entire series again just earlier this week. I needed to re-read the first two books so I could read the third and feel its full impact. And you know what? It worked, just like the first two did. I was broken before, and I'm whole now.
The movie trailer looks amazing. Alexis Bledel is playing Lena (I'm thrilled. I never would have chosen her, but she looks perfect for the role), and Amber Tamblyn is playing Tibby. My mom watches Joan of Arcadia, so I've seen two episodes, and I think Amber will make a good Tibby. In fact, all of the casting looks amazing. I love the girl they chose for Carmen... She's exactly like I imagined her. The only thing I'm a little upset about is that apparently there is no Effie (Lena's sister) in the movie. Which makes good movie-making sense. She's not a major character in the books. But still.
Go watch the trailer. It actually made me cry. Yes. I cried at a trailer.
These books mean a lot to me.
June 3. Counting the days!
