I can't even express how much sorrow I feel right now.

I voted. It was a good feeling, sending in that absentee ballot last week and then walking around today knowing I'd done my civic duty.

I honestly can't begin to comprehend how Bush could have won. What idiot would vote for Bush?

This is terrible on so many levels. I can't even begin to list all of them... The environment, foreign affairs, health care, a woman's right to choose, gay marriage.... So many horribly important things that are now going to be defeated. Spending will go up. Bush will cut taxes again and the people will cheer. A draft could be enacted, and the people would cheer. I've lost all faith in the American public. The masses really are stupid.

Jamie pointed out the one consoling factor: at least we're intelligent enough to mourn the outcome of the election.

I almost wish we weren't.

---

Some lady on the television (I apologize deeply for not having caught her name) said earlier that she thinks it might be a good thing that all the young, Kerry-supporting voters had this "soul-crushing experience." She was a democrat, but I can't remember what her logic was. I just know I agree with "soul-crushing experience." Hey, Anjali, my heart goes out to you for all the work you did for this campaign. Eleiza, I grieve with you too.

In Emily's words, "all hail the bringer of the apocolypse."

This is all a bit melodramatic. But doesn't the situation almost call for it?

"Nous sommes desoles que notre president soit un idiot. Nous n'avons pas vote pour lui."

"If you can read this, you're not our president."

I mourn, but the mourning can not last... I have a plan. It has a few holes, but I think it might work. I think it just might work...
