Back from hiatus
Dec. 28th, 2005 10:16 pmI'm temporarily back in Santa Cruz, and sort of had a chance to catch up on the livejournal goings-on from the past three weeks. Wow... my friends page gets updated like MAD. I went back until it wouldn't let me go back anymore, and I still couldn't go back far enough to see entries that were made before I left. So if I missed something important I'm sorry. One thing I did notice, in reading through 60 entries from you guys, is that a lot of you are unhappy. Is it just the holidays? Do you guys need to talk? I'm here if anyone wants to call me.... I didn't comment on any of your entries because there were just too many. But I do read your journals and I am here if you want to talk (I promise I won't even talk at all if you need to rant).
I'm back in Santa Cruz until Friday morning, at which point I will drive back to Reno, spend Friday afternoon and Saturday there, and probly take a Greyhound back here to Santa Cruz on Sunday morning (hungover?). So I SHOULD be home in Santa Cruz on Sunday. That will give me a nice three days before school starts to finish cleaning, rearranging my furniture, and messing with my thesis, which are the primary reasons that I'm here right now instead of in Reno.
The first week of break, which I spent in San Diego with Jamie, was spectacular and could not have been better, except maybe if I hadn't been sick for half of it. The last week and a half have been good, but not great. A lot of different factors have combined to make the last week and a half not my favorite. But on Sunday I will be back in Santa Cruz with three days of lazing ahead of me.... And maybe then I can make some sort of a recovery from the emotional hell that the holidays always seem to encompass. It was worse than usual this year: the first time I heard Silent Night I started sobbing, because the last time I heard it was last year in a cancer ward.
Wow. There really must be something in the air; this entry sounds unhappy too. I had a good Christmas! I enjoyed this break! I'm ready for the new quarter! Yes, I'm even somewhat excited about having a new sister!
I'll try to update again either before Friday morning or when I get back Sunday. More details about San Diego to follow, I promise.
At any rate, for the time being, it's wonderful to be in Santa Cruz. It just feels so good to be HOME.
