Oct. 9th, 2005 08:06 pmI spent most of this weekend grading papers for my accidental job and studying for the GRE. It was a long and busy weekend... but it was kinda fun. I'm actually enjoying being back in school. I guess the summer did rejuvenate me a little bit.... I'm enjoying being stressed out again. I feel normal. It's good.
I hung out with Jamie tonight (I had to get OUT of the house and AWAY from my test prep book), and we decided we're going to San Francisco next weekend. I'm hoping to be able to meet some faculty, or check out the campus or something. We're spending all of Saturday there (couldn't make it on a weekday, which decreases chances of meeting faculty, but oh well), and whether I get to meet anyone or not, it will be a fun trip and a good chance to hang out with Jamie and shop. If nothing else, it will be a nice reward for having finished the GRE on Wednesday....
I need to get back to work and do some reading for my thesis... I'm starting it up again and the next phase is to do some oxidative stress assays on the cells I treated with manganese over the summer. Basically, I'm going to:
1) Poison cells, then
2) see if the cells have been poisoned.
I have realized that this is what most of science is--destroy something and then ask why it was destroyed. Science rocks like that.
Anyway.
