Today was fun. I wanted to have a bit of a busy day so I wouldn't be sitting around being lonely without Jim here, and I managed that pretty well!
There was an arts/crafts open house thing in Ann Arbor, where a local spinner/dyer was going to be selling her stuff (she made the yarn I made my Shipwreck Shawl out of, and I have half a skein left of it--it's fantastic yardage and quality for a very reasonable price). So at the last minute I asked the people in my Ravelry group if they wanted to go, and one of them did! So I got to meet her and buy some yarn this morning in Ann Arbor! That was pretty cool.
I got home around 3 and ate lunch and watched an episode of West Wing. Claire snoozed on the couch next to me, and she looked so comfortable and peaceful I thought I'd join her in napping. I woke up around 7, with a crick in my neck.
One of my coworkers was hosting a cookie party tonight, so I got myself up off the couch and got dressed and out the door. I was only a few minutes late, thankfully. The party was fun. We made a ton of cookies and spent quite a while decorating them. I finally left around 10:30 and when I got in the car I got out my cell phone to call Jim and say goodnight to him (I hadn't talked to him all day). Sadly, he was already asleep. I guess they have been making him get up pretty early for the training, and he's been getting up even earlier than that to work out in the free fitness area, so he's going to bed reeeeally early. I woke him up. :-(
So. I accomplished my goal and didn't spend the day sitting around missing Jim... but I ended up not even getting to talk to him.
Grrr.
