1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
I received a bachelor's degree, bought a car, moved to the east coast, started graduate school....
2. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never ever make New Year's Resolutions. They always fail, so I don't shoot myself in the foot like that.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My mom. A couple of my cousins.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not this year.
5. What countries did you visit?
Wyoming.
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
Sanity?
7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
January 6--the day I got into Yale. June 18th--the day I graduated from UCSC.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Graduating.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Being a lunatic and making some really stupid decisions. I'm currently regretting having that mental breakdown and breaking up with Jamie and going to Yale.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not anything particularly vile, no.
11. What was the best thing someone bought you?
My parents got me some really, really nice etched glasses for graduation.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My new Yale friends have been pretty awesome.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My own, frequently. And, to be honest, my mother's.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Into my car.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Visiting California next week!!!
16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Probably anything by Death Cab for Cutie, because it's the only thing I've listened to for the last two months. Also, Over My Head by the Fray will always remind me of this summer.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Sadder.
b) fatter or skinnier? Skinnier.
c) richer or poorer? Richer, ever so slightly.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Climbing!

Freaking out.

Watching my parents drool over my sister ripping paper apart and shrieking.

Oh, hmm. Weeds, and How I Met Your Mother, and for a few months Lost.

I try not to hate people. I just avoid them. So no.

Wow, this is sad. The greatest book addict ever is drawing a complete blank. I have no idea what I read this year.

Elliott Smith. And Death Cab. And from last year, Wilco. They're my triad of awesome bands.

A car.

A new laptop.

*draws a blank* I think I saw, like, four movies in the theatre this year.

I drank. I turned 21.

Stop trusting your instincts. They're wrong.

Greece in June, baby! And probably an-I'm-going-crazy-I-need-the-beach-trip to Santa Cruz.

I'd like my classes to be intersting, challenging, and useful.
