Pictures of my soon-to-be-home

Okay, I lied. I am too lazy to post pictures, but I'm also bored, and in this case bored wins out. To the pictures!

So these pictures are actually of the third floor unit, and obviously someone lived in it at the time of the picture-taking, but apparently my place will look much the same. Werd.

And a slightly cool scanned map, which I added dots to.

You should see five little bright blue circles. The one near "Swing Housing" is my house. Then there's the Yale Bookstore and Sterling Library (the main, huge, gigantic, cathedral-looking library). In the very bottom left corner is the edge of the medical school campus, where apparently I will be spending a lot of time my first semester, 'cause that's where my classes will be (and that's where the doctors and the med library are, so I'll be hanging there in my free time too *grin*). And in the top right corner there's a bright blue dot next to Kline Biology Tower, which is on Science Hill, and where I will also be spending tons of time, 'cause there are a lot of labs up there.

So there you have it! Welcome to Kara's Life In New Haven, Part One: Geographic Orientation. Stay tuned for such things as Kara Gets Internet and Cable Working, Kara Finds the Best Grocery Store, and Kara Grumbles About The Laundromat Down the Street, all to come within the next two months!

Interestingly, my synthesizer now pronounces your name correctly. (Remember how it didn't in 8th grade which led to so much making fun of you?)

Yay! I'm glad your synthesizer has caught up with the times.

You know, I actually thought of you while I made this post. I didn't put any captions on the pictures.... But they're really not that exciting. In case you're wondering, it's the living room, the bedroom, two shots of the kitchen, one of the bathroom, and a shot of the outside of the building. And then the map. It's really only exciting if you're terribly bored.

Hooray

I'm so glad you have an appt. It makes me feel better about you going over there. Else I'd have to call random people I might know that live on the east coast, and see how close they were to you. NE ways. Did you get a car yet? What's the dealio with that...

Ok. sending love to the goon in Santa Cruz (not for long)
Alohas.
