Yale
I think it is now officially official. I am going to Yale. I checked the little box on the yellow form they sent me in January, and then I signed it and put it in an envelope and put a stamp on the envelope and then put it in my backpack.
I haven't sealed the envelope yet, nor put the envelope in a mailbox. I'm waiting. I don't know what I'm waiting for, since I've pretty much known for a couple of weeks that I would go to Yale, but the next six years of my life seems like something that should maybe sit in my backpack for a day or so before I send it off to be carved in stone.
I'M GOING TO YALE!!!
All these new thoughts are running through my head: Make List of Things to Do Once I Get to Connecticut (like buy pillows and get a CT driver's license and buy real furniture instead of cardboard boxes taped together), buy a car, find a place to live in New Haven, change mailing address on magazine subscription, renew passport and have the new one sent to my parents' house because I might not be in Santa Cruz by the time it gets here... Oh yeah, and my favorite: graduate. Which, first and foremost, involves finishing my stupid evil thesis.
Does anyone want to make a quick hundred bucks? All you have to do is write my thesis for me....
As excited as I am about Yale, my heart aches for UCSF. It was a really, really close decision. I love SF, I love the research, I love the facilities... but the pro/con list called it for Yale nearly 3 to 1. And my heart says Yale. But still. UCSF is frickin' awesome.
Next quarter will be the easiest quarter of my existence. Besides finished my thesis, I will be taking French, Intro Photography, and Intermediate Sailing. Woe is me. Such a hard life.
Anyway. I have a pchem assignment to finish, as always.

Re: I heart you goon
Eeeeeeeeeee! You're going to Yale. I can live vicariously through you! One part of me did always want to go to Yale. Sorry I missed your call--I was pretty much in one long meeting all weekend...I don't know how it's possible, but it happened.
Anyway, congrats and what are you doing over spring break (and when is it?)
