Okay, let's see if I can write an actual update without rambling.

I got back from Las Vegas last night. While I had a wonderful time and it was great to see my favorite aunt and 9-year-old Megan, 6-year-old Sydney, and 15-month-old Kyle, I swear to whatever powers there be that if one more person says in a high-pitched 6- or 9-year-old voice, "OOOooohh!! The baby is so cuuute!!" that I will go on some sort of killing rampage and probably destroy myself and most of the babies of the world in the process. The word "cute" is hereby and henceforth my least favorite word in the English language.

Other than being driven crazy by screaming children for the last week, I really enjoyed my visit. My aunt, Sara, is eight months pregnant, and we were hoping she'd have the baby while I was there. She'd been having pre-term labor for the last five weeks or so, and on Wednesday she was finally allowed to stop taking the medication that stopped the contractions, so we were hoping that she'd have the baby soon after that. But no luck. Looks like Olivia Faith might actually stay in there for the next three weeks if she wants to. There's not much Sara can do about it.

Las Vegas is HOT.

I did actually get to see the strip this time. We took a brief trip downtown and wandered through the Aladdin and Paris, and then walked across the street to watch the fountains at the Bellagio, which are amazing and cool, and someday I have to go back there and watch them on their half hour schedule every half hour for a whole evening. They were cool.

I cut my hair yesterday before getting on a plane and flying home. I think I cut off about a foot. It's the shortest it's been since I was four. It's just below my ears. My housemates love it. I think Nick is in shock.

Now that I'm back, my list of things to do takes up an entire sheet of paper. It's kind of frightening. The stuff I have to do this week would kill a horse.

*Mail hair to Locks of Love
*Do online traffic school
*Call houses for info (I'm looking for a new place to live, hopefully with Mo, Sarah, and Nick)
*Call ATT, ask about the check and bill they sent me while I was gone
*Unpack
*Do laundry
*Go grocery shopping
*Wrap Nick's birthday presents (his birthday is today; I'll see him Friday)
*Sort through clothes, give things to Goodwill
*Pay tuition bill
*Pay cell phone bill
*Study for GRE
*Get rack and splatter shields for bike
*Apply to grad schools
*Schedule Reno trip
-call Mom's perinatologist and set up day to shadow him
*Finish thesis report on Phen Green (the one I was supposed to write a month ago)
*Research oxidative stress for first week back at school
*Talk to an advisor about waiving the writing requirement
*Get to a scanner and upload pictures of cysts and short hair
*Save world

I am daunted. So daunted, in fact, that after making a list of houses to call, I went back to bed this morning and slept for another three hours. So much for being productive today.
