I hate mornings and I hate tests.
Yesterday morning sucked. I had a Lorelai morning. What did we learn from the snow episode? That's right. Never turn down coffee. One of my housemates had coffee brewing in the coffee maker, but it only made exactly the amount that fits in my coffee mug, and I didn't have time to brew another pot, so I didn't want to take that coffee and deprive a housemate. So I figured, "Okay, I'll just buy coffee on campus." Now, I normally take an early bus to campus, because, as my mom says, I'm Rory, and I like to get to school a while before it starts, so I can sit and look over my notes or clear my head or whatever. Well, yesterday I decided to take the normal bus instead of the early bus (partly because I'd slept in a little). So I got to the metro station (empty coffee mug in tow), and the bus finally arrived. The bus driver opened the doors, let maybe ten people onto her empty bus, declared she had to save room for people on the route, and shut the doors in my face. And drove away. I stood there in shock, my mouth hanging open, too stunned to even counter with, "But I have a midterm in 30 minutes!" So I had to wait for the next bus, which, according to the schedule, gets to campus at 9:28, but is a notoriously late bus, so I knew I wouldn't get there by 9:30. By some freak accident, the bus actually got to campus at 9:28, and I sprinted across Science Hill to get to my lecture hall at 9:29.54. Still coffeeless. Resigned to my fate of taking a physics test sans caffeine. However, I suppose the gods were smiling on me again, because my professor wasn't there yet, so I took a chance, sprinted across Sci Hill again, bought coffee at Earth and Marine, and sprinted back to the lecture hall. And I made it. I don't know how, but I made it.
And then I spent the next thirteen hours in class, studying, or in review sessions, except for the half hour I took for lunch, and the 40 minutes I spent talking to Megan and her 3-month old (awww, so cute!!) on the phone.
And now I have another test, preceded by a review session for a third test (who puts review sessions at 8 am????) and followed by a physics lab I haven't yet read through.
And you know what my body said this morning? "STOP!! Put that coffee in me and I swear I'll kill you!"
And I ignored it. Again.
