Who wants to play "Aren't you glad you're not in this class?"?

No really, what does LOD score mean to YOU?

And finally, the diagrams and calculations I suffered to make in the attempt to answer question 2. Unfortunately, it has been determined that my "Diagram o' Fuckednes*s" is wrong. Which might be okay, 'cause it's kind of illegible anyway.

My point is, this is what I've been up to this week. Well, this and cell bio, which is not quite as bad but definitely giving genetics a run for its money.

how is your lab stuff going? isn't that really the main thrust of grad school in the sciences?

classes aren't that important, right?

thanks! i am worried the time will fly by too quickly!

Lab is okay. I really like the lab I'm rotating in... i should make a post about it. They play WEBoggle and do crosswords at lunch, and there's a chocolate drawer and our PI brings in her dog most days. And in my entire project, I only managed to make two truncations of the protein I'm studying, but I showed that one of the truncations still interacts with its binding partner, which is cool. I just got the second truncation back today. Yay me! I did something right!

I was kind of hoping that classes would be a little better, because I graduated a year early and thus missed out on some classes. But for the most part they're dumb. Lectures are just like undergrad, no brain stretching, but assignments are ABSURD. Bleh.

I can't wait until break! I fly home on Tuesday! Yay!

you should definitely post about your lab. i'm intrigued by what goes on in labs. they seem so mysterious. the site of sacred knowledges and practices...or some shit.

i'm going home on tuesday, too. i think.

like...all this weird tiny stuff going one that i can't ever see or understand. i'm probably romanticizing it. but, if i were a scientist, i'd do it for the lab.
